A spring celebration of glorious gardens and events
It’s little wonder Taranaki is becoming known as the gardening capital of New Zealand. Many of the gardens in the festival are recognised for their plant collections, presentation, how they inspire garden lovers and deliver an experience above all other garden festivals around the country. While the five public gardens are festival favourites, it's the private gardens open exclusively for the festival that draw people to Taranaki in pring year after year.
With over 40 gardens open to the public, you’ll find an exciting mixture of grand country gardens, self-sufficient and sustainable lifestyle blocks, gardens of national and international significance and those that allow us to pause, relax, and appreciate the glorious beauty of nature.
Our Taranaki Garden Festival Hub is the place to start your festival weekend. Located in the White Hart Hotel Courtyard, this grand Victorian building is part of the city’s growing cultural precinct and includes the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre and West End Precinct, a shopping and hospitality mecca!
Here you'll be able to purchase garden entry tickets and get your free double-sided Festival Programme starring our glorious gardens, inspiring sustainable backyards, a stunning arts trail and maps. Also at the Hub, festival hosts will help you find out what’s happening around Taranaki, or you can enjoy a coffee, glass of wine and bite to eat.
The festival hub is open 9am-4pm daily throughout the festival, Fri 30 Oct - Sun 8 Nov.
Admission is FREE!
